Maria Manuela Lopes

Maria Manuela Lopes is a visual artist with a transdisciplinary practice, a researcher at i3S as co-responsible for the Cultural Outreach Art/Science interface of the Institution, and an Adjunt Professor of Visual Arts at Instituto Politécnico do Porto (ESE- IPP).
Lopes concluded her Post-Doctorate at the IBMC Molecular and Cellular Biology Institute at the University of Porto and the Institute for Research in Design Media and Culture, Aveiro University. Completed her PhD in New Media - Fine Arts - at University for the Creative Arts in 2013 by the University of Brighton. Dean of The Arts and Multimedia Department of ISCE Douro and co-founder and Deputy Director artistic residency programs: Ectopia: Laboratory of Artistic Experimentation and Cultivamos Cultura. She is also director of an International Music and Arts Academy (A2DV).
