Sílvia Simões

Sílvia Simões is a visual artist, an Assistant Professor at the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and an integrated researcher at i2ADS - Research Institute of Art, Design and Society. Simões is a co-editor of PSIAX Journal, a peer-review publication focused on drawing studies. She is a researcher on the DRAWinU project. Simões concluded her PhD in FBAUP with a thesis on “Perspectives of Artistic Teaching in the Face of the Challenges of Digital Technology. The teaching of drawing: from the studio to the network”. Major research interests focus on catastrophic landscapes, modes of landscape spectatorship and landscape’s material imagination.
